Our College
ACEM was founded as the Queensland College of Oriental Medicine in 1987. Since then, it has continued to develop the courses offered to now include accredited acupuncture and equine acupuncture training.
We are constantly upgrading our courses to include innovative advances in acupuncture and oriental therapies. The College offers Nationally Recognised Training in Shiatsu.The Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies (HLT50207) and The Diploma of Remedial Massage HLT50307.Both od these training packages are Austudy or Abstudy approved.NTIS # 30835
The College also offers an Advanced Diploma of Acupuncture and Oriental Therapies. This is not a Nationally Recognised Training however the qualification is accredited by The Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) and is of a high enough standard to allow articulation to occur with Southern Cross University towards a Bachelor of Clinical Science.This course includes various techniques in acupuncture including Japanese styles of theory and practice, together with the Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies qualification.
A Diploma in Equine Acupuncture and Shiatsu is also available for those seeking a career in the Equine Industry.Graduates from this qualification can obtain insurance from Insurance House and OAMPS.
ACEM is pleased to announce that it has recently been granted registration by CRICOS (Provider #02903M) to offer courses to international students.
Articulation with Southern Cross University
We are very pleased to announce that ACEM has been granted articulation with Southern Cross University (SCU).
The Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies HLT50207 and The Advanced Diploma of Acupuncture and Oriental Therapies have both been recognised by SCU towards a Bachelor of Clinical Science degree.
ACEM students can enrol in the degree course.
For acupuncture students a further 2 years study with SCU is required on top of the training units of the Advanced Diploma of Acupuncture and Oriental Therapies to be granted the Bachelor of Clinical Science qualification.
HECS will therefore be available for the SCU component of the training.
We have just been recognised to offer a Diploma of Remedial qualification HLT50307 for national and international students.
